KRUMIRI

Cookies with a very old Piedmontese tradition. They are slightly curved, striped sticks, made of butter, flour and honey, with no yeast.
Legend has it that they were created in 1878 by Domenico Rossi, a pastry chef from Casale Monferrato (in Piedmont), who was inspired by the handlebar moustache of King Vittorio Emanuele II to commemorate his death which occurred that very year.

LICORICE

It is difficult not to love licorice because it has a flavor which brings one back to infancy and because it is very sweet (its scientific name specifically means sweet root). A product that contains in itself many positive characteristics: it helps cure coughs, hoarseness and gastroduodenal ulcers. Italian licorice is noted for its purity.
It is produced in drops, confetti, little rods and other numerous varieties.

MARRON GLACES

The wide spread chestnut orchards found in the Italian mountains grow marrons, large meaty chestnuts which when cooked in a sugar syrup become delicious and soft candied fruits.
Produced in only a limited quantity, they are appreciated by the most refined palates as a precious gift.
