Straddling the border between the provinces of Verona and Brescia on the southern shore of Lake Garda, the Tocai di San Martino della Battaglia production zone benefits from highly favorable climatic conditions created by the mass of water in the basin. Vines grow in lush profusion along the lake’s banks.

The wines made to the south, north, east and west of Garda are now distinguished, one from another. But in the past, they were generally lumped together as Rhetic wines, a term that was used by such important ancient authors as Pliny and Virgil.
The calcareous-clayey soil is particularly adapted to the cultivation of Tocai Friulano. The variety grows extremely well in this restricted zone--the grapes for the wine come from only slightly more than 70 hectares of vines. They produce a white wine that combines finesse and elegance with a good structure and that occupies an important place in the enological panorama of the region.
